Where Do You Find The Makeup Work When You Miss

MISSED CLASSES
It is possible to make up for missed class days, only only upward to a betoken, and only for legitimate reasons.  In one case a person has missed 3 days (i.due east. 10% of our classes) for any reason, it is probable that they will lose some credit.  For up to 3 missed days, it is possible for someone to propose and complete "make up" piece of work to accommodate those missed classes, subject area to faculty blessing of the proposal.  Here are of import considerations regarding such work:

MAKE Up WORK
It is impossible to truly "make upward" for missed community learning opportunities in our program.  Whatsoever "make up" work will fall brusk of our planned grouping learning activities.  For that reason, we take no more than than iii missed classes' worth of "brand upwards" before reducing credit for the program.

    – It is up to the student who missed a class to study the syllabus, consult with classmates, and propose "make up" piece of work that accomplishes at least the following:  1) offers the kinesthesia prove of their successful engagement with the program materials that were in-play during the missed class; and 2) requires a time delivery equivalent to the number of missed in-course hours.  In other words, if y'all missed a 3-4 hr form, your make-up proposal should stand for iii-4 hours of learning piece of work on your own, at a minimum.

    – If we screened a documentary or other film in class, you lot should certainly include the screening of the film on your ain and a 2 page written assay of the film–in improver to any in-class worksheet–as role of your proposal.

    – If you lot missed a seminar, you should: a) turn in any study questions worksheet on time past email (even if you are ill), and bring a difficult re-create to the adjacent class you attend; and b) to "make up" for the lost seminar time, propose and complete some kind of extended response to/reflection on the portion of our readings covered in the seminar.

    – Please, do non send your faculty an email asking whether or non to send a late assignment by email.  Just send it.  Bring a hard copy to the side by side class.  We can figure out later whether or non it qualifies for credit.  If you have completed an consignment, evidence it by sending it in.

    – If yous missed an in-course group workshop, it will be posted on Moodle.  You lot should commit to completing the workshop equally much as possible on your own, or with the help of a fellow classmate (which is usually preferable!).  Include any written portion of the workshop in your portfolio.

    – Recognize that some in-class, group learning activities cannot exist made upwards on an individual basis.  In such cases, you will not be able to "make up" credit for missing those activities.  This is part and parcel of our community learning model.

    – For "make upwardly" proposals, send your kinesthesia a concise proposal that indicates your awareness of the main class activities y'all missed, and what you intend to do to "make up" for missing them.  It is upwards to you lot to brand the example that your proposal is acceptable.  Exist set up for your faculty member to respond with a modification to your proposal.

    – Your proposal must include a clear borderline for the submission of your brand-up piece of work.  This is best for everyone involved, and then that the piece of work doesn't "hang over" anyone's heads!

Of import:  Whatever "make-up work" you propose, go accustomed, and complete should exist included in your final portfolio in a section conspicuously labeled every bit "Make-upward Piece of work."  This department should include the following:   A) All of your make-up work proposals, with the accompanying make-up work; and B) each brand-up assignment should conspicuously indicate for which missed course day–including the date!–it is intended to brand upwards for.  Make upwards work that is not included in the portfolio, with specific dates, may not exist counted for credit.
